We all know
that “beauty is fleeting”, but can we
do
something to
extend the
appearance of youth?
Like the
clothes you wear, your skin deteriorates
with time and with exposure to the
weather. It develops wrinkles,
blemishes, stretch marks, scars,
unwanted hair, vessels and cellulite.
With aging,
skin eventually tends to become dull,
lax and wrinkled.
Unlike the
fabric of your clothes, the fabric of
your skin has a unique ability to heal
and to regenerate. We can use new
technologies to trigger your skin’s
unique ability to repair it-self. This
enables you to look younger, with skin
that is more smooth, supple, and clear.
Most of these treatments do not involve
surgery or downtime.
Lasers and light
These technologies
can be used to reduce acne and rosacea,
unwanted hair and blood vessels, brown
pigment spots that occur with age and
sun exposure, stretch marks, wrinkles,
and scars, including scarring produced
by acne. This is all done with little
discomfort
without
surgery, and without leaving new scars.
Radiofrequency
technology
is used for reducing cellulite and
unwanted fat deposits, as well as for
tightening loose skin, and for
effectively treating acne that was
resistant to other medical treatments.
This treatment is painless.
Botox
Injections
can be used to reduce facial wrinkles
and make you look years younger. These
injections are done using very thin
needles, so the discomfort is minimal.
Botox is also effective for treatment of
migraine headaches, and for
treatment of excessive sweating.
Fillers
are a
variety of substances that can be safely
injected under your skin to fill
defects, deep wrinkles and depressed
scars, and to re-create facial contours
lost with aging. By them-selves, or
combined with other techniques such as
Botox or laser treatments, fillers can
be used to make you look years younger
without the risks and discomforts of
surgery.
Acid
Peels
involve use
of weak acids which can be brushed onto
your skin for a strictly controlled time
interval, and then neutralized or
removed. This is used to safely dissolve
the superficial layer of dead skin
cells, thus stimulating deeper layers of
skin to produce collagen and new cells,
giving your skin a younger and more
clear appearance. Acid peels are used
for treatment of acne, to tighten skin
pores, to decrease wrinkles, and to
reduce skin blemishes.
Sclerotherapy
involves
injection of a sclerosant substance into
a varicose vein or other dilated vessel,
to make it disappear.
Other
treatments
would include mesotherapy, use of
ultrasound and shockwaves, and, of
course, a multitude of creams and
cosmeceuticals. Of course, if all else
fails, there may be more invasive
surgical options..
So,
even though we can not stop the aging
process yet, we can certainly slow down
it’s appearance.
