Fillers
Fillers are a variety of substances that can be safely injected under your skin to fill defects, deep wrinkles and depressed scars, and to re-create facial contours lost with aging. By them-selves, or combined with other techniques such as Botox or laser treatments, fillers can be used to make you look years younger without the risks and discomforts of surgery. Over time, as we age our appearance changes. You look older because:
(1) Skin becomes less elastic. It gets thinner and the creases formed by making expressions deepen into wrinkles.
(2) Under the skin you lose bone and subcutaneous fat volume.
This causes "deflation",
much like a balloon that
has lost some of it's
air,
resulting in a sagging
of facial skin.
Wrinkles, sagging,
and color changes
(pigmented spots,
vessels, blotchy
appearance) result in a
tired and aged
appearance.
There are a
multitude of procedures,
both surgical and
non-surgical, that can
help you reverse the
appearance of aging. One
such procedure is a "non-surgical facelift",
which is a minimally
invasive procedure
categorized as a " lunch hour
procedure". How is that
possible? With dermal fillers!
So, what are dermal fillers? They are substances that can be safely injected into or under your skin in order to restore smooth texture and youthful shape and contours of your face, lips, hands, or another area of the body which appearance needs to be rejuvenated. Examples of such dermal fillers are Radiesse, Teosyal, Evolence, and Restylane.
The filler plumps up the
area where it is
injected. Because the
fillers we use are
natural substances, your
body gradually
metabolizes them. Thus, any treatment with the above fillers isn't permanent, but lasts 6 months to 2 years, depending on the filler and the treatment. Dr. Pinkhasik uses a very fine needle to place a filler in the
key regions of your face where loss of volume has created
changes that produced an
aged and tired
appearance.
- Lines between the side of your nose and the corner of your mouth
- Crows feet wrinkles
- Lines around your lips
- Scars
In addition, careful placement of a filler in certain areas of the face
restores volume, fixes the "bags under the eyes", and produces a lifting effect
on the sagging skin of the lower face, making you look younger and refreshed. We have seen amazing results in men and women with the placement of Radiesse or Teosyal along the cheekbones to lift and round out the cheeks, or to decrease the appearance of "bags" under the eyes. If your cheeks are hollowed out or sagging, or
if you have the appearance of "bags" under your eyes, this treatment will instantly take years off your face.
Fillers can also be used to lift eyebrows and sagging cheeks, alter shape of the nose, reduce jowls, plump up thinned lips, and rejuvenate the appearance of your hands.
Because the landscape of your face is so small, your skin only needs to be lifted a very small distance to achieve really profound results. In skilled hands, it is a subtle but effective way to make you look younger and refreshed.

Here, filler material was
injected into Zygomatic
(cheekbone) areas, Maxillary
areas (under eyes), Naso-labial
folds, Marionette lines (at
corners of mouth), and chin.
Total 4 syringes of filler
material were used. |
