Lasers and light technologies
Use of these technologies relies on
premise that certain wavelengths of
light are absorbed preferentially by
certain components of the skin and
therefore can be affected without
damaging surrounding tissues.
These technologies can be used to reduce
acne and rosacea, unwanted hair and
blood vessels, brown pigment spots that
occur with age and sun exposure, stretch
marks, wrinkles, and scars -
including scarring produced by acne.
This is all done with little discomfort,
without surgery, and without leaving
new scars.
Radiofrequency
This technology is used for reducing
cellulite and unwanted fat deposits
without surgery, as well as for
tightening loose skin, and for
effectively treating acne that was
resistant to other medical treatments.
Ultrasound
Besides the
diagnostic application of ultrasound -
which most people are aware of,
ultrasound can be used for decreasing
localized fat deposits. Subcutaneous fat
cells are shattered by specially tuned
ultrasonic waves, and the released fat
is eliminated.
