Fitness

Raise your fitness level with trainer-guided resistance exercise, yoga, pilates, and more at our gym facilities.

Whether you are looking to enhance your weight loss, boost your metabolism, raise your fitness level, alleviate a specific musculo-skeletal ache or pain, or improve your specific sports performance, our varied and personalized fitness programs will help you achieve your goals.

If you find it difficult to get motivated, or to find the time or energy to go for a workout, do not worry; you are not alone! Getting to the gym is often harder than the actual workout it-self. Our team of physician-guided BCRPA certified personal trainers and nutritionist will make your workouts fun, and the program effective.  We will assess your fitness needs and goals, evaluate your personal health status, and design a personalized safe and effective program that will boost your metabolism and improve your health and energy level.

If you simply want to increase your activity level, you can shake it up one of our fun zumba, step aerobics, or cardio kickboxing classes, or you can increase your flexibility in our hot stretch and yoga class, or strengthen your core muscles in a pilates class. If you feel particularly ambitious, you can even join our fitness boot camp. Your participation in these programs will be preceded by a health and fitness assessment to ensure that such program will be safe and beneficial for you considering your health and your fitness status.

If you are new to fitness programs, or if you are working towards a specific health and fitness goal, you may wish to take a more structured approach by joining our systematic fitness program. This program consists of 4 phases: assessment, induction, transition, and maintenance, as described below:

Assessment Phase starts with physician’s assessment, metabolic testing, and physical gym testing to determine your physical abilities, your exercise preferences, and your aptitudes in order to create a personalized fitness program most suitable for you. This phase lasts 1 week and involves 3 sessions.

Induction Phase lasts for 2 weeks, during which you try and test the program, and you are taught the specific exercises which make up your personalized fitness program. You will be teamed-up with a small group of up to 6 people, with similar fitness needs and aptitudes, per trainer. This phase will ease you into your fitness program.

Progress Phase is the phase of the program during which you will notice a significant improvement in your fitness level. You will be going through your workouts with your team and your trainer, and the level of difficulty will be gradually escalated to match your evolving fitness potential. You will notice an increase in your muscular strength, your agility, your flexibility, and your energy level. This phase of the program lasts 10 weeks.

Maintenance Phase is possibly the most important part of your fitness program. It is here to help you integrate fitness into your lifestyle. This phase of the program consists of 2 parts: Consolidation and Continuation.

·        Consolidation phase takes you to the next level of proficiency in your quest to attain fitness. You are taught specific exercise sets for toning and conditioning specific areas: core strength, back, shoulder strength, and so on. You are able to do more than you did before the program, and you attain the next level of fitness, making fitness a part of your daily routines. This part of the program lasts 12 weeks.

 

·        Continuation phase ensures that fitness remains a part of your life. You may continue your workouts at the gym, and you participate in many fun activities such as hiking, biking, dancing, or anything else you may choose. We will provide you with fitness and nutrition-related education and counseling, and activity-specific coaching on "as needed" basis.
